It's Harvest Prayer Time!

I am so pumped about Harvest Prayer this month! Prayer is the avenue by which God's power is released in the earth, and as we pray together, focused on the lost, the hurting, and the next generation, we WILL see our city changed.

Do you know someone who is unconnected (no relationship with Jesus) or disconnected (no local church)? Start praying for them today because this is their month! Be sure to check out the prayer outlines on the Harvest Prayer webpage of www.churchatmirrorlake.com. They're very helpful in knowing how/what to pray, and will keep us all on the same page (in unity and agreement).

We want to hear from YOU, so use this blog for comments, testimonies, if you just want to blab away about how great God is, whatever! This is our month to connect in prayer and change our world so let's talk about it!

  1. whaahooo!! I can't wait to see how God is going to move more mightily in our city and in our lives. He is so faithful to respond to us when we obey His word. My God is so good!

  2. Here's a cool way to focus your prayer. Write the names of 3 to 5 people you know who need Jesus or need a church on a small card that you can keep in your wallet or purse. Take it out everyday during your prayer time and pray specifically for them. Sheryll and I have been doing this for several years and it is amazing how many people that were once on our cards are now in our church.

  3. This is strange...I feel like I am in some sort of "prayer vortex". A type of cyber reality:)

For real though, I am excited to see what God does this month. I must admit, it feels weird to pray for exactly 3 minutes today without feeling the need to watch the clock. And watching the clock really seems to crush what could be a God-opportunity for us to see something in the spirit; something God specifically wants one of us to pray for.

So , do you think it would be kosher for me to relax a little about going over the time?

  4. I think the idea is a minimum instead of a limit Matt. For instance, tomorrow, August 5th, we would pray a minimum of 5 minutes. By the way, here's an easy way to pray the minimum each day. Use the newly added prayer calendar with daily targets. On the 5th, pray the items for the 1st thru the 5th and you will have prayed 5 minutes. Easy.

  5. I used the new prayer calendar today and it was amazing! My new favorite song to pray along with is We Won't Relent by Jesus Culture. It gets me pumped! I love praying and fasting with all of CAML!

  6. Thanks for the tip PT. I wonder if the calendar is viewable from my PDA/Phone.

So, i am fasting from McDonald's in the afternoon. This is a really BIG deal for me. In fact, one of the most vital meals of my day.

That said, i wonder if I would be cheating if i just went to Burger King instead?

    J/K:) HAHAHAHA!!

  7. I am amazed at what God is doing in my own heart in the first law of the harvest - SEE IT. Since I've been praying intentionally and with focus this week, people I pass in the grocery store seem to have lights on their heads saying "pray for me, pray for me!" I used to pass by people without really noticing them while on my mission to "get the milk," but now I'm seeing INDIVIDUALS that God loves so much that He gave His only son for...

  8. Prayed for 6 minutes today using the Prayers That Avail Much link on the website. Can't wait to bump it up on Saturday with the fast. It's amazing what we "SEE" when we are intentional with our prayers. I love what is said in Ephesians:
God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

  9. Shonna, I have been experiencing something similar, but mine has been about my neighborhood. During my prayer time this week, God has really laid it on my heart to pray specifically for the different houses in my neighborhood. Some times it has been very specific prayers for very specific houses, while others it has just been to pray for the harvest in the subdivision. I am fasting sweets and meat this week, and looking forward to next week adding bread.

I love joining in this great covenant with God, it never fails to blow me away.

  10. It is amazing what happens when you set time aside to pray. I am so uplifted and excited about what God is doing. It is like I am in this elite group (not really elite at all) but I get to be in the 'know'. I really don't 'know' anything but the joy, excitement and peace that comes with prayer is such an amazing place to be that it feels like I just know exactly what God has planned. And I guess I do, He said...'I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of'. Thank you Jesus for bringing this time of prayer to the hearts of our leaders!

  11. Just prayed 10 minutes using the prayer calendar. Really focused on the "scales" falling off peoples' eyes so they could see their need for God and His church. I am stoked about this. So many results already. Just look at what is happening on Sundays!

  12. I prayed 11 minutes today focusing on the lost. I used Matt 9:37-38 as a point of prayer. I asked God to speak to the hearts of those who don't know Him and that they would open their hearts to His Spirit. I also prayed for more workers to enter the field. I asked God to make us a whole church that is distacted by those who have not yet met Him.

  13. God is showing up in huge ways! This prayer and fasting stuff really works! He is so faithful to honor His Word. Just this week people have given their lives to Jesus, been set free in areas of their lives. This is such a refreshing way to live! I am loving it. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. Go JESUS!
