I believe that God is truly making us a church that is sensative to the hurting. We started this week with Psalm 34:17-19, which says "The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."
God has been leading me to pray for people with broken relationships. Many times they can't just "get over it" because it's not all up to them - there's another person in the picture. God wants to bring complete deliverance and restoration to these relationships - BOTH parties.
Many hurting people will be set free this month as we pray; let God lead you as you pray, then share your comments with us. God is ready to do the miraculous, so expect it!

I am especially impressed by the Spirit of God to pray for those in need to seek God first. So many times we look to other avenues for help before going to God. Father, help those who are hurting to turn their faces toward Heaven, where a cure instead of a fix is found.
ReplyDeleteIn my prayer time I believe that I was led also to relationship, but in a different way. To just take time to be in relationship with the Lord. Don't be in His word to get healing, or relationship repair, or finances; rather be in His word to be in relationship with Him and all that will come. Like the song - We don't want blessings, we want You.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read Tony A's comment, I was reminded how so many seek healing or help when hurting from friends or other sources. Jesus is the only healer to the hurting and broken hearted. This month as we pray, ask God to send His healing power in the name of His holy servant Jesus.

As I've been praying this week, I have focused on those who have been burnt or wounded and blame God or His church. Let's ask Him to breathe fresh life, restore what's been stolen and rekindle the dreams He has spoken to their hearts. Matt 11:28(msg)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, Michael. Jesus said his burden is light and that his commandments are not burdensome. He's all about life, real and eternal life, more and better life than we've ever dreamed of. I'm praying that this truth becomes reality to the disconnected and hurting.

ReplyDeleteWhile I was praying this week, God revealed to me that He wants to heal but there are many who don't know that is even an option. On Wednesday, Pastor talked about those we have given up on or thought 'been there done that' so why try anymore.
ReplyDeleteI originally was praying for the nondescript hurting but when I heard that word...names began pouring into my soul. Thank you Lord for reminding me that You never give up!
